Ireland Urged to Put Pressure on Germany Over Pro Palestinian Activist's Trial The trial of the Ulm 5 activists in Germany has sparked international concern, with a cross party delegation of Irish politicians urging Dublin to send observers and raise concerns about the treatment of one defendant.

Mairéad Farrell, a Sinn Féin member of the seven member delegation, described the conditions at the high security trial in Stuttgart as "harsh" and "unwarranted.

" The Ulm 5 are accused of trespassing on an Israeli arms company site, causing around €1 million in damage. Farrell's visit to Daniel Tatlow Devally, the Irish defendant, in prison was particularly striking.
